For over a decade, she has pursued a vision she first saw in 2012: a bustling home décor store alongside real estate and construction offices. She began her career as a Texas Realtor, then transitioned to flipping houses and building new construction projects.
That journey led her to open her own brick-and-mortar home décor store and create the Room in a Box subscription line. To manage the growing workload, she brought her daughter, Mikaiah G. Spencer, into the family business. Together they are building a dynasty and a team to take the vision international.

When J. Nicole Jackson and her family fell in love with a 121-year-old home in downtown Rice, she never imagined she would make history only three years later. She was elected with a majority vote, served two terms, then stepped down to pursue the enterprise full-time.
During her tenure she led her team to victories that left a lasting mark on the Rice community — including the economic development push she coined “Rethink Rice.”
